International Concerto Competition for Pianists
Evenings of Piano Concerti Season III CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE FLYER CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD THE APPLICATION FORM Date: January 4,5,6 and 7, 2010 Preliminary Round: January 4,5 and 6, 2009 Final Round: January 7, 2009 Venue: Steinway Hall in New York City Application deadline: December 1, 2009 Late Application deadline: December 15, 2009 • The International Concerto Competition for Pianists is open to pianists of any nationality born between August 31 1993 and 1974 (age 16-34) • The Concerto Competition will be held in Two Rounds; Preliminary Round & Final Round • A maximum of eleven participants will pass to the final round. • The winner will be performing with an orchestra presented by New York Concert Artists & Associates at the winner’s concert as a part of “Evenings of Piano Concerti” season III in Spring 2010 in New York City. • The Orchestra and the guest conductor will be announced in fall 2009. Please check back at our website at www.NewYorkConcertArtists.com for the updates. • The winner’s concert will be promoted by New York Concert Artists & Associates. Contestants who live outside the USA can audition by submitting a DVD of your performance. The DVD has to contain the performance of the submitted piano concerto on your application accompanied either by an orchestra or by another pianist. Send your application, a $100 check and all other materials to New York Concert Artists & Associates 365 West End Avenue, #4G New York, NY 10024 USA *Application must be in its completion* Repertoire - Any Piano Concerto - Preliminary Round: 15 minutes (Jury will make cuts) - Final Round: Entire Concerto performance with orchestra cuts • Performance should be by memory. • Works performed in the competition must be published. • For works written after 1980 a copy should be handed to jury. Prize - The winner will be given a concerto performance with an orchestra presented by New York Concert Artists & Associates in its seasonal concert series “Evenings of Piano Concerti” - A New York Concert Review • The winner’s concert will be promoted by New York Concert Artists & Associates to major Newspapers, Classical radio stations and other important venues in New York. • Contestants may bring their own accompanist at their own expense. However the competition will provide accompanists upon request. Copyright • New York Concert Artists & Associates has unrestricted rights to broadcast, record, televise, publish any part of the contestants’ participation in the competition and the winner’s concert, including, but not limited to, rehearsals and performances. Lodging & Transportation • Contestants are responsible for their lodging and transportation. Recommended hotels and other accommodation will be available on request. Visa • For contestants who need to obtain US visa, competition presenter will offer an invitation letter or any other document required for the visa application.
